In Rhythm: Reinvention as Choreography

September 28, 2025

Welcome to The Jubili — your weekly rhythm reset for women 40+ reclaiming their energy, clarity, and confidence in who they’re becoming.

In midlife, energy often goes everywhere but inward — to kids, parents, work deadlines, endless to-dos. That’s why change feels exhausting: your energy is spent on what’s leaving.

I know this feeling well. For years, almost all of my energy went into being a mom. I loved it deeply, but I eventually realized that to keep giving energy, I had to also receive it. The rituals I share with you here are the very ones that helped me make that shift. They turned motherhood from something that drained me into something that actually fueled me.

The shift comes when you redirect energy toward what you’re creating.

Try this reframe:

  • Instead of asking: What am I losing?

  • Ask: What am I gaining? What am I learning?

Change becomes energizing, not exhausting, when you focus on what’s opening up — new space, new time, new purpose.

New habits don’t stick because of willpower. They stick because of cues.

Your brain loves anchors. When you tie a new behavior to something you already do, your body recognizes the cue. That’s how habits stick faster.

This is habit stacking:

  • While coffee brews → take 3 deep breaths
  • After brushing teeth → write one journal line
  • After shutting laptop → stretch for 5 minutes

It’s not about doing more. It’s about weaving new steps into rhythms you already have.

Food is choreography, too. Each plate directs your energy either toward stability or toward spikes and crashes.

This dish from Dr. Mark Hyman is one of my favorites because it’s both flavorful and functional: clean protein, healthy fats, and anti-inflammatory ingredients. It’s quick enough for a weeknight but feels like something you’d order at your favorite restaurant.

Miso-Glazed Salmon with Cilantro Cauliflower Rice

  • 16 oz wild salmon

  • 2 tsp sesame oil, divided

  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes

  • 1 tbsp avocado oil

  • 1 head cauliflower

  • 2 tsp tamari

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 3 tbsp cilantro, chopped

Steps

  1. Heat oven to 425°F.

  2. Mix miso, ginger, vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.

This is reinvention on a plate: nourishing, bold, and steady.

One of the biggest identity shifts in midlife is realizing that movement doesn’t always have to be forceful to be effective.

When you move with flow, you teach your nervous system to soften. You remind your body that change can feel light, playful, even joyful.

Try this flow ritual this week:

  • 5 minutes of gentle yoga

  • A walk set to music that lifts your mood

  • A dance break in your kitchen

Flow-based movement lowers cortisol, supports hormones, and anchors you in rhythm. Sometimes, the best step is the lightest one.

As estrogen shifts, skin loses elasticity and collagen. Red light therapy helps restore it. It boosts collagen, improves circulation, and brings back glow.

The HigherDose Red Light Face Mask is more than cosmetic. It supports skin health at the cellular level helping you feel strong and confident in your next chapter.

Change is inevitable. Reinvention is optional. But when you choreograph it with rhythm, you stop resisting life’s beat and start directing your own.
